mahler

Soooo...(swinging back and forth). What's been going on, kiddies? I really havent been here in a while. You know why? Because I'm busy living in the 18th century, using a large press bed...with a handle, and a lock, and a scraper bar, and a turning device. Lithography is really getting to me. As happy as I am with my last print, I still look at that damned press bed and think "What?" If only we could pretend that we lived in oh, I dont know, 2000 and 6, then we could use real printers. Like zzt, zzt, zzt printers. Like ones you put paper into. Like ones that you plug in.

Uh, yeah. That one. Anyways, hopefully after tonight we'll be done with lithography for at least a week. But then there's painting.....and intaglio. Which, can we just pretend isn't even a class? Thanks. It'll make me stronger just believing that I'm taking that class as a sunday morning artist. Oh SSSnap, Oh SSSnaap!! Painting is the only class I really wanna give my time to. That's the best class and I want to save the best for last, but not to the point that it becomes an afterthought.

Working at the library has made me realize something. I really hate these music students. It's ok to think what you are studying is great and relevant and you're good at it. But to act more important, better, and asshole-like about it is unacceptable. Stop waving your long hair in my face and dropping a slip of numbers to me to go fetch the cds you need. I'm here to help, not serve you. And I can swear that some of these guys use accents they dont even have. I know you've never been outside of the midwest, stop lying. I mean, i used fake accents in in the 4th grade, but i stopped. I realized, it's kind of offensive. No no no, listen. Hahaha, listen. Seriously. This one guy came in who is the exact description of all the sleezeballs in the movies where the girl is dating him and the main character is in love with this chick. Early nineties, maybe. Like, I'm talking about guys from movies from the era of "ladybugs." Hhahahahaha. RIP Jonathan Brandis. Did i just......was that a....nevermind. Ok, ok listen. So, this guy was about 6 feet tall, had blonde hair in the style known as a "mushroom cut".....like a MUSHROOM. also known as the Hugh Grant look, a la "Nine Months." He had glasses that were thin framed and oval. Thom Mcann loafs, khaki "slacks" and a MOCK NECK FLEECE!!! EEEEOOOOOEEEEOOOEEEEOOOO (that's the nerd siren that went off). I truly don't care what you look like, but when you come to the desk and hand me a slip of paper placed between just your forefinger and your middle finger and slyly whisper "just this" in a slightly british accent, I'm going to laugh. I'm going to laugh hard. Since how are you james spader from Pretty in Pink? Am I making too many references? Anyways, the music students here are snots. Not all of them, but most of them. Also, not to choose sides, but at least the art students are nice and willing to admit they're lost on the fourth floor. Ok, enough from the librarian.I had another really good point. Hmm. My favorite artists right now include Robert Motherwell and Franz Kline. They really have some bas ass work, as well as studios that I want to move into.

I wish I could paint like that. I tried actually. We started a collaboration piece, but I took over and started a self-portrait. I didn't mean to be obnoxious, but seriously it's mine now. No touchy. I think art is getting harder for me, but i'm enjoying it more. Sleeping in more would be nice. I slept in once in the past two weeks. I have to say, I'm ready to be out of undergrad and have a more steady schedule. 104.3 WOMC, over here. What? I like old people. I could finish this entry here, but the more time i spend on this the faster the next hour and twenty will go.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say how cool my roomate is. She's an incredible individual and very caring about others. She puts up with a lot of my whining and what not and she always encourages me.....even when she shouldn't. I SEE A MUSIC NERD WITH TRANSITION LENSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............(blink, blink)..............soooooorrryyyy. I shouldn't have yelled that aloud. It just further proves my point though. I'm really happy we got to catch up. I'll see you guys soon.
